Dear Friends,
It is time to renew your membership or become a member of the Wythe County Humane Society. In
doing so, you are speaking out and helping the dogs and cats, puppies and kittens who cannot speak
for themselves..
Your membership and/or donations mean the difference of life or death to the many animals who come
our way through the Wythe County Animal Shelter or through private individuals. We receive no funds
from the county or for that matter no governmental funding whatsoever. We depend solely on a handful
of dedicated volunteers who continue to dig deep in their pockets to do whatever it takes to give these
animals a second chance. Your gifts and help through multi-fundraisers help foster these rescued
animals before placing them in "forever homes".
With so little time to focus on fundraising, we can’t keep up! With your help, we can put a dent in the
monies we owe for veterinarian care, boarding fees, spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, food, collars,
leashes, crates, kennels, and other supplies. Your help will pay long-distance phone bills, along with the
cost to transport rescued pets to new homes or other shelters.
So, please send your membership/donation in today with a little extra if possible. Since we are a
“shelterless” humane society, every dollar you send, directly benefits these deserving creatures.

Wonderful news!! Because of your concern, support, and the hard work of a small group of dedicated
volunteers, in 2007 the Humane Society rescued 272 dogs and puppies from Bland and Wythe County
impounded at the Animal Shelter. Also, numerous cats and kittens were rescued from Wytheville’s Cat
Shelter. In addition, we intercepted 150-200 pets that were on their way to the pounds. Our thanks to
you for “helping us help them”!
