WARNING: People who steal and abuse dogs, sell animals to laboratories and train fighting dogs
often answer "free to good home" ads. For your dog's safety, research potential adopters
carefully before directing them to your home.
The Wythe County Animal Shelter can euthanize these animals as soon as they reach
their adoption date.
Call them as soon as you see the picture and let them know if you are
interested. Dogs are available for adoption on this page from the Wythe Co. Animal shelter for
people living in Wythe, Bland, Smyth, Pulaski, Carol and Grayson counties. Dogs that have been
spayed or neutered can be adopted from anywhere, unless otherwise noted dogs are not
spayed or neutered. If you are outside these areas contact Ruthie Murray at
petsinperil@yahoo.com If you have a lost dog, contact the Animal Shelter immediately!!
Don't wait or it may be to late.

Puppy Rescue Story
A Message from the Wythe County Humane Society:
Please have your animals spayed and neutered.  Hundreds of unwanted puppies and kittens are turned over to the
Wythe County Humane Society and Wythe County Animal Shelter each year.  Help reduce that number by doing the
right thing.  Spay and neuter your animals....  Here are a couple lower cost options:

Clinic and Community Animal Clinic in Wytheville do participate, but there are also others
outside Wytheville.)  If your vet participates, set up your appointment, then send the PetFix
Coalition the name and location of your vet along with your check (Dogs under 75 pounds are $60.00 and over 75
pounds are $75, female
cats $40.00, male cats $30.00).  You will receive a certificate for your animals spaying or
